Like a lot of people, I was deeply affected by the Al Gore global warming movie, An Inconvenient Truth.  My primary response, however, is not to recycle more, drive less, and turn down my thermostat.  As valuable as these actions might be, the fact remains that all my efforts to reduce my own consumption footprint can and will be wiped out by the addition of just one more person to the world’s geometrically increasing population. 

Instead, I have decided to concentrate on raising awareness that the solutions to all of our greatest political, economic, and environmental problems depend on finding a just and humane way to limit world population to happily sustainable number. 

Here’s the punch line:  I’m not kidding.
